Phil Handy served as Chairman of the Florida State Board of Education, which has constitutional responsibility for Florida’s public educational system, for six years.  Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Industries, a portfolio of 15 companies in the diversified service and manufacturing businesses.  Handy has served as an education policy advisor to numerous boards and political campaigns.  He is a member of the Chief Executives Organization, the World Presidents’ Organization and has been a member of the Florida Governor’s Council of 100 since 1987.   Handy holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, an MBA from Harvard Business School and received the Doctorate of Laws “h.c.” from Flagler College.
