Steve Barr

Steve Barr is founder and chair emeritus of Green Dot Public Schools.  He also recently founded Green Dot America to focus on systemic change and union reform.  Barr is also a State Board of Education appointee to the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools, where he provides policy recommendations on charter school-related issues. Barr co-founded Rock the Vote, which led the way to the first upward surge in 18-24 year old in voting since the passage of the 26th Amendment.  He has been active in politics serving several presidential campaigns, finance chair for the Democratic Party, and helping drive political change through television and as a writer.
