Ben Austin
Ben Austin is the Executive Director of Parent Revolution, which fights to transform failing public schools through community organizing - and has succeeded in shifting power to parents in the debate over education policy reform. Austin successfully directed the campaign that passed California's historic Parent Trigger law. Austin is a former member of the California Board of Education and helped craft education reform policy as Deputy Mayor to L.A. Mayor Richard Riordan. As Senior Advisor to Rob Reiner and First 5 California, he helped create L.A. Universal Preschool. Austin is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Georgetown Law School. He and his wife Tracy have two daughters.
