Gayle Manchin
Gayle Manchin is President-Elect of the National State Boards of Education (NASBE) and former First Lady of West Virginia. As an educator, Gayle has worked in Marion County Schools, was on the faculty of Fairmont State University in Developmental Education and was Director of the university's first Community Service Learning Program. Manchin also served on the West Virginia State Board of Education. In 2010, she was appointed by Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan to the FIPSE (Federal Improvement for Post Secondary Education) Board. Gayle has been married to former West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin for 43 years and has three children and seven grandchildren.
