Gene Maeroff

Gene Maeroff is president of the school board in Edison, New Jersey and author of School Boards in America: A Flawed Exercise in Democracy, published by Palgrave Macmillan at the beginning of 2011. He is the author, co-author, or editor of 13 previous books. Maeroff was the founding director of the Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media at Teachers College, Columbia University, where he remains a senior fellow. Previously, he was a senior fellow at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, conducting research and writing reports on a variety of educational topics.
