    School Choice

Families need the financial freedom to attend schools that meet their needs. The Foundation supports policies that empower families to choose a public, charter, private, virtual or home school.

WASHINGTON, DC—On August 23, The U.S. Department of Justice filed a petition in federal court blocking Louisiana’s statewide school voucher program. This move by the DOJ would prevent parents from receiving the resources they need to provide their children with quality education. Chairman of the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd), Governor Jeb Bush, and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will discuss the issue in a news conference.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 18th

TIME: 11:30 am EST

LOCATION: National Press Building, 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C.

After the filing last month, Governor Jeb Bush released the following statement regarding school choice in Louisiana:

This move by the Obama Administration traps our kids with low expectations and low-quality schools, all in the name of protecting the system that continually fails these students. It is our moral obligation to ensure that every child has access to the best education available. America is a nation of opportunity and a quality education opens the door to opportunity…” read more
