Don Gaetz has served as a Florida Senator since 2006. Prior to this, Don Gaetz was the Superintendent of the Okaloosa County School District. During his term of office from 2000-2006, Okaloosa Schools became the highest performing public school system in Florida and won numerous national awards for academic excellence. Heralded as Florida’s Education Trendsetter by Florida Trend Magazine, as a State Senator, Gaetz has continued working to improve education in Florida through higher standards of accountability and effective teaching. Gaetz earned undergraduate degrees in religion and political science and a master’s in public administration. He and his wife Victoria have two children.
