Governor Jeb Bush, Founder and Chairman of the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd), released the following statement on the signing of Senate Bill 89, which redesigns Ohio’s EdChoice Scholarship Program. The bill will allow approximately 50 percent of students in Ohio to qualify for a scholarship to find an educational opportunity that meets their needs by expanding the income eligibility level.

“Governor Mike DeWine continues to empower working-class families and underserved communities with educational opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.

“I applaud his leadership in improving Ohio’s EdChoice Scholarship Program to help more students with the greatest needs. Every scholarship means a better future for children across the state.

“I thank Governor DeWine, Senate President Larry Obhof, Senator Matt Huffman and House Speaker Bob Cupp for their continued dedication to improving the lives of Ohio students.”
