Kayla Ward is a Policy Analyst for ExcelinEd. In this role, she supports the organization’s policy team to help states build and implement policies that promote educational quality, innovation and opportunity.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida A & M University where she was president of the FAMU Literary Guild and a summer English mentor for the Department of Developmental Studies. She received her Master of Applied American Politics & Policy from Florida State University. During this time, Kayla worked in the University’s Office of Faculty Development and Advancement and interned in the Florida House of Representatives. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
