Justine Morina is a Senior Policy Director at ExcelinEd focused on teacher and school policy. She is a former high school math teacher with over ten years of experience in education policy and strategy. Previously, she was the Assistant Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, she advised the Governor and Secretary of Education on policy initiatives and priorities relating to school accountability, teacher recruitment and retention, data governance, and college and career pathways. Before that, Justine was the Deputy Director of Education for the George W. Bush Presidential Center, where she identified and focused on high-impact accountability, principal talent management, and data-informed policy strategy. She has also worked as a management consultant and is a Teach For America corps member. Justine earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
