Katie Brooks is the Senior Director of Communications for ExcelinEd. In this role, she develops and manages a holistic communications program to advance the organization’s state advocacy initiatives, which includes developing strategies and tactics to support state policymakers and advocacy partners in adopting and implementing student-centered policies that will transform education.
Prior to joining ExcelinEd, Katie served for a decade as Marketing Director for EdChoice, the nation’s oldest private school choice organization. She has also worked as a communications specialist at Enova Financial in Chicago, where she ran the social marketing channel for their US, UK, Australian and Canadian brands. Katie got her start in a traditional public relations capacity for the New London Orchestra, New World Youth Symphony Orchestras and Borshoff, an Indianapolis advertising, branding and public relations agency.
Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a second concentration in music from Indiana University. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, two daughters and two French bulldogs.
