Rico Bush is a Deputy Director of Communications for ExcelinEd. In this role, Rico serves as a partner with the policy and advocacy teams for planning and executing communications and media strategies that advance the organization’s public policy and advocacy work. Rico is based in St. Louis.
Before joining ExcelinEd, Rico served as the Director of Communications for Empower Missouri where he directed the organization’s overall communications and marketing strategies.
Previously, Rico was a TV anchor and reporter with television stations in Oklahoma, Virginia, and Missouri. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in Journalism and Spanish and a minor in Political Science. In all his vocational endeavors, the common thread has been sharing stories that can change public policy in ways that build stronger communities.
