Today, Governor Eric Holcomb signed the state budget, which includes significant investments in expanding educational opportunities – including dramatically increasing the income eligibility for the Choice Scholarship, creating the state’s first education scholarship account and more equitable funding for public charter schools – and prioritizing broadband improvements for schools and students.
“Indiana’s leaders are demonstrating their unrelenting commitment to students through these transformative investments that empower families, expand equity and bridge the digital divide.
“After a year of disruption, this is a pivotal moment for the future of education— and Indiana policymakers have responded by increasing opportunity and access, particularly for those families most in need.
“I applaud Governor Eric Holcomb, Speaker Todd Huston and the visionary state lawmakers that have today taken meaningful action to prioritize students, strengthen the quality of their education and best prepare them for success.”

“Governor Eric Holcomb continues to empower working-class families and underserved communities with educational opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. The Choice Scholarship can now serve up to 90 percent of Indiana’s students and becomes one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. Under Governor Holcomb’s strong leadership, our state is investing in teachers and proven policies that best prepare students for success in school and in their future.”
